You can change your life with an hour a day

(that's really all you need)

Ding dong!

Me: “Who is it?”

Delivery person: “You have a package, sir”

I rushed downstairs immediately to retrieve the package.

Now, let me show you what came in the mail:

It’s a hammock…for your feet!

Haha, I know it’s silly, but trust me, this has to be one of my best purchases.

It’s natural for us human to put our feet up while sitting at a desk for a long period of time. And I had one of those foot rests before, but it was too low for my taste, and it kept sliding around on this tile floor.

If you're a fidgety person like me, this hammock is perfect for you to rest your feet and swing it back and forth. The hammock helped me burn extra calories while writing this email.

Oops, the hammock got me too excited that I forgot to talk about our topic today 😅

Let’s see how an hour a day can change the trajectory of your life, shall we?

Yup, 1 hour per day is all you need.

Because you’re reading this newsletter, it tells me that you are ambitious, you have dreams and goals. And most of the meaningful goals in life require long-time horizons.

Whether you’re building a business, growing an online audience, trying to get in the best shape of your life, or even building a Roman Empire, etc. You can’t achieve these things overnight, they will take you months, or even years.

“Rome wasn’t built in a day”

So how do you start working toward things that take such a long time?

One hour a day!

By investing this one hour in focused effort and learning, you can acquire new skills, make progress toward your dreams, and improve in areas important to you

Every day, you spend an hour working towards your goal, you’re just laying down bricks. It’s easy to be overwhelmed focusing on the end goal of building your Empire, but if just zoom in and focus on laying down one brick at a time, it becomes more manageable.

Over time, these daily, intentional actions compound, leading to significant transformation and achievements.

What can you do in an hour?

Many people tend to have these default activities that take up most of their time:

  • Watching Netflix

  • Scrolling social media

  • Out drinking with friends

  • Skimming self-improvement contents without taking real action (aka mental masturbation)

The list goes on. Many of these habits are so common that we don’t see them as bad, and we don’t consider them as wasted time.

But if you’re not as happy, successful, or fulfilled as you want to be, it’s important to recognize that low-value habits are the main obstacle holding you back.

Here’s what you can actually do that matters:

  • Meditate, Journal, and Reflect on your day

  • Hit the gym

  • Learn 20 new words and 10 phrases in another language

  • Go for a walk outside

  • Go through that online course that you bought a month ago

  • Read

  • Write a weekly newsletter

  • Grow your personal brand online

  • Talk to like-minded people on Twitter

  • etc.

So next time you find yourself reaching for distractions like Instagram, or Netflix, redirect your focus to a more productive activity. To make it easier, you can find your next downtime and schedule ahead that productive task — a great reminder that keeps you accountable.

When is it okay to chill?

Of course, we are not robots, we need entertainment and relaxation time. Use is as a form of reward after you complete your one hour of productive work.

Just like dogs, we love treats, we love being rewarded after doing something that’s out of the habit. So don’t be afraid to have some guilt free sessions of Netflix.

Pat yourself on the back, because you’re a good boy (or girl) for putting in one hour of work that will change the trajectory of your life.

Alright, I want to see you put that productive task on your calendar.

Stick with it. One hour a day, one brick at a time.

The power of consistency, the ability to show up every day and never give up, is what shapes your future.

Most people think one hour is nothing, but NOT you.

One hour is how you’re going to change your life, to achieve what you’ve always been desire.

One hour is how you’re going to build a life you want.

P.S: Speaking of planning ahead to stay accountable and get things done, my friend has come up with an idea for a browser extension that could simplify this task.

If you’re similar to me, you often have many tabs left open, waiting to be revisited.

But here’s the problem, you never revisit them.

Things often don’t get done unless you block time to do them.

With this browser extension, you’re 1 click away to get yourself accountable and clear out those tabs.

If you experience the same problem and find this extension useful for you,
