My foolproof plan to make $1M

Reading time: 4 minutes

Hey, let me ask you this, do you love doggies? Because I do. I have 3 of them 😁

Every day, I wake up to these little turds running around the house.

Left to right: Meet Arthur, Tofu, and Ditto

You know, as you get older, you have bigger responsibilities. You have to pay for everything yourself; detergent, hand soap, toothpaste, toilet paper (unless u can grab a few rolls from your college campus šŸ˜‚ - I swear I didn’t do that)

Anyway, now that I’m an adult, I have to pay for all these things that used to be free (thanks mom), and… I have to take care of 3 dogs. They eat A LOT, love squeaky toys (especially rubber duckies) and those things cost money.

Speaking of money, I don’t think I need much to live comfortably (now that I live in Asia, things are cheap here). Money is something that we all need, but people are afraid to talk about it. And it’s a great tool to enable things, having money can unlock doors and allow you to do things you haven’t been able to (like traveling around the world, for example).

I have my money goal, and I’m sure you have one too. And most people want to cross the finish line of making 1 Million dollars šŸ¤‘

So today, allow me to show you my plan of how I’m going to make $1M.

Plan A: Get a $100k job, and then work there for 10 years (assuming you don’t pay any taxes or expenses) šŸ’€

Alright, here’s my plan B because I don’t want to wait that long.

For plan B to happen, I need these 4 things:

  1. Sales Skills

  2. An Entrepreneurial Mindset

  3. Product & Market Knowledge

  4. Basic Financial Management

(Alright let’s get it baby)

Sales skills

You know, when someone says sales person, I used to think of a used car salesman who tries to get rid of a piece of šŸ’© of a car from their lot.

But in reality, a sales person is someone who finds a gap in the market, sees someone with a need, and helps solve that need (ethically of course)

The reason why I need to level up my sales skills is because that’s what bring in the money. Nothing happens until something gets sold.

Sales is the most important thing I will be focusing on.

Everything is an idea, until someone gives you the money for it.

A-B-C, Always be closing.

An Entrepreneurial Mindset

Everyone wants to be their own boss nowadays. I see people putting Entrepreneur as their bio, but most of them can’t make it after 3 months. Why you ask? It’s because they like to play it safe.

When it comes to being an entrepreneur, uncertainty and risk are your best friends. You don’t know what’s going to happen next. And playing it safe ain’t gonna cut it.

I have to train myself to get comfortable with risk and get comfortable with the idea of pursuing growth in the face of risk.

(doing nothing is a risk, going slow is a risk, going too fast is also a risk)

Ready to take risk? Let’s move to the next.

Product & Market Knowledge

Our third component, is how I’m going to generate income. And that is to provide value, to solve problems, to cure pains.

Man, I can’t stress the importance of providing value. I wish people told me this when I was a young boy: ā€œHey kid, the way you make money is to provide valueā€

(not going to school, get good grades, and get a good job, none of that bs 😔, please stop telling this to kids)

Oops, I went off topic there, back to our regular programme.

Ask these questions:

  • What problems do people have, and do you have the solutions for it.

  • What pains are people suffering from, and do you have the medicine to cure it.

Everyone can come up with the idea, but whether that idea is valid or not is another story.

You can only validate it through sales, you only validate it by speaking to people who may or may not want your stuff.

And that’s why it is important to have clarity on product and market knowledge.

Now that we can make money, let’s move on to the last point.

Basic Financial Management

You know what they say, it’s not about how much you can make, but how much you can keep.

If I make $1M but spend $1.5M, that’s no bueno.

And let’s not keep this section boring (google Saving, Investing, etc.), or you can go to Dave Ramsey to learn more about the basic.

But I’ll leave you with these questions when it comes to managing your money:

  • Where is the money going?

  • How is it going there?

  • When is it going there?

  • What am I getting in return?

  • Am I making money?

  • Am I losing money?

  • How much do I spend per month?

  • How much do I have left? (if this is zero or negative, you need to chill on that spending, bro (or make more))

And that my friend is my Master Plan to make 1 MILLION DOLLAR

😈 muahahaha

Oh shoot! It’s time for me to feed the doggies.

Thanks for checking this out, let me know if you have something (better) that can improve it, I would love to know!

P.S: If you’re new here, thank you so much for giving me your email (I won’t sell it to hackers on the dark web, I swear)

P.P.S: I launched my website not long ago, https://thejustinnguyen.com/

And on this site, there’s a link that you can book a call with me (I’m not selling you anything).

I’m working on getting more comfortable with video calls, I want to get to know more people, grow my online friends circle, and most importantly, I want to encourage people (you) to do the impossible.

Later!
